Compassionate, Trauma-Informed, Christ-Centered Care
At Barefoot Counseling, we believe healing happens through safe, meaningful connection. Our counselors provide compassionate, trauma-informed care that honors the whole person—mind, body, relationships, and story.
Grounded in Christ-centered values of dignity, compassion, and restoration, we meet each client where they are and create an individualized path toward healing, growth, and greater connection.
Our Counseling Services

Individual Counseling
One-on-one support for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, identity concerns, life transitions, and personal healing. Together, we create space to understand your story, develop meaningful tools, and move toward greater emotional health and wholeness.
Couples Counseling
Support for couples seeking to improve communication, rebuild trust, strengthen intimacy, navigate conflict, and deepen connection. Counseling may include traditional sessions or more focused intensive work depending on the needs of the couple.
Child & Family Counseling
Compassionate support for children and families navigating behavioral concerns, emotional struggles, relational stress, trauma, and family transitions. Our goal is to help children feel safe and understood while strengthening healthy connection and communication throughout the family.

Specialized Therapeutic Approaches
Our clinicians draw from a variety of evidence-informed and trauma-informed approaches based on each client’s unique needs, goals, age, and circumstances. Availability of specific modalities may vary by clinician.
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process distressing experiences and memories. It is commonly used in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, and other forms of emotional distress.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is a focused, body-based therapeutic approach designed to help clients access and process trauma, emotional pain, and experiences held within the nervous system.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS helps clients compassionately identify and understand different internal “parts” of themselves. This approach can support greater self-awareness, healing, and integration.
Gottman Method
A research-based approach to couples counseling that provides practical tools for strengthening friendship and intimacy, improving communication, navigating conflict, and building lasting connection.
Play Therapy
A developmentally appropriate therapeutic approach that gives children a safe environment to express emotions, process experiences, build skills, and grow through the natural language of play.
Trauma-Informed Care
Trauma-informed care is at the heart of our counseling approach. We recognize the ways trauma can affect the mind, body, nervous system, relationships, and sense of safety. Our clinicians prioritize compassion, collaboration, emotional safety, and respect throughout the healing process.
Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)
The Safe and Sound Protocol is a listening-based intervention that uses specially filtered music to support nervous system regulation. It may help promote greater regulation, connection, and capacity to engage with everyday experiences.
Neurodivergent-Affirming Care
Supportive care that recognizes and honors differences in neurological wiring rather than viewing them simply as deficits. We help clients understand their individual needs, navigate challenges, strengthen self-awareness, and build upon their existing strengths.
TraumaPlay™
A trauma-informed approach to play therapy that supports children through connection, emotional regulation, resilience-building, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic experiences.
Child-Centered Play Therapy
A relationship-based therapeutic approach in which children are given the freedom to lead the play process within a safe and supportive environment. Through play and connection, children can express emotions, explore experiences, develop confidence, and strengthen emotional well-being.
